Some wolves said that the meadow was the most romantic and beautiful place in Silverlight, but Tessa disagreed. She thought the waterfall was beautiful, and it had this hint of mystery about it that intruiged her. She needed a break from the pack, from the pups, and she had wandered off for a while. Cici was capable of keeping an eye on the pups for a while, plus, Laek was never far away. The three little pups would be fine without their mother for a short while, and she needed a breather. She walked slowly, enjoying the view and finally coming to a stop at the edge of the pool to look up at the falling water.

Cas had wandered off for a bit, getting way from the pack and the pups. He headed off in a random direction, finding himself coming up on Tessa by the waterfall. "Hey there." He said softly, coming to a stop beside her. He knew this wolf. She was the other mother. The one who had given birth to those three pups, two of which that had been giving Laek a lot of trouble keeping their two under control. "How're you doing? Taking a break from the pups?" He asked, tilting his head to the side with a smile. When she nodded and smiled back at him, he laid down, smiling as she did the same.

It seemed that the only thing Sibirskiy had been doing lately was wandering around the pack lands. It had been at least a couple days since he had went back to the main dens, having spent the previous day talking with Fallon. Now he found himself at a completely different end of the pack lands, closer to the waterfall, a place Sib had not been to at all. It did not matter much to him where he went though, he was just wandering. Though, he knew he'd probably have to end up going back to the dens, not only was he hungry, he wanted to check up on the pups, knowing he'd probably come back to some complaints from some of the other's about Bleu and Bandit... it seemed those two never ceased to find ways of getting into trouble.

It took a while, but he had finally made it to the waterfall, or at least close to it, the sound of the crashing water getting louder as he wandered closer, and not only the sound, but also now he swore he could smell Tess's scent somewhere here. He had not at all expected to find here out here, figuring she would have still been with the pups; then again, she needed a break too. He let himself smile a little, thinking it might be nice to see her here, without the pups around to pester them, and actually have some time to relax with her.

Finally making it to the pool of the fall, his ears shot up, hearing another male’s voice, sniffing the air before getting nearer. It was Cas, the loner that had gotten Laek pregnant... odd that he was here. However, he could also hear Tessa with him, the two talking. What was Tessa doing here with him?! Now sufficiently curious Sib had no choice but to eavesdrop a bit, lying in some brush nearby the two, his ears remaining erect as he listened.

Tessa looked down at Cas as he laid beside her, smiling slightly and laying down as well. When he spoke, she looked over at him and rested her head on her paws as she looked out over the water. "I'm doing alright. A bit tired, but thanks to Cici, I can take a break from the pups for a bit." She said, assuming he was doing the same. "I came out here to get some peace a quiet. Ironic, huh? That I come to the loud waterfall?" She asked, making fun of herself and laughing slightly, finding herself oddly relaxed around this male. Maybe it was because she assumed he wouldn't try anything because of the pups or Laek, but she couldn't tell for sure. When he tried to get up and leave her be alone, and told her so, she shook her head and nudged his shoulder. "No, I like the company." She said softly, smiling as he laid back down beside her.

Cas was about to get up and leave her be, knowing that she needed space, but when she said she enjoyed the company, he laid back down and smiled. "I'm glad that not everyone in this pack hates me." He said softly, his ears flattening to the side appreciatively as he looked over at her. Neither of them had noticed Sib's scent, nor could they hear him over the sound of the roaring waterfall. "Well, you're looking great. Especially after having three pups and raising them almost all by yourself." He said, unintentionally bringing up the fact that he hadn't seen Sib around the dens helping her out for quite a while.

It felt sort of odd, hiding like this, listening to the two of them talk. He really did not expect this sort of thing out of himself, but... the mix of knowing what Cas did, and about how he used to be just a loner stalking around the pack lands, he could help but have a small amount of distrust. Still yet, he was eavesdropping on Tessa, surely, he knew he could trust her? Was that even a question to wonder about? As he started to get a bit mad at himself for having done this, he heard what Cas said about her having been raising the pups alone, all of his previous thoughts stopping. The first reaction he had was anger, who was he to say such things! Sib had been around helping her... well... sorta. Had he really been neglecting her that much? Was he that bad of a father already that he had not even thought about how much time Tessa was with the pups, and how long he was away lately? He just stayed in his hiding spot, listening even more now. He continued to just look out towards them, seeing how Tessa reacted to what he said, and slightly getting a bit anxious as to why he was laying so close to her. Making him out to be a bad mate, and father, and being so close to her right now? It just... did not seem right.

Tessa was a bit surprised at his compliment, and the hidden insult to Sib within his words. She frowned slightly, but as the male watched her, she had to admit to herself that her mate had been gone a lot lately. She had been feeling lonely and depressed as of late, and she had done her best to hold everything together as well as raise their pups while he was wandering around the packlands. But it wasn't easy, and she had to admit, it was nice to hear a male compliment her again. Sib hadn't done that for a while, it seemed like he hadn't wanted to be around her much anymore. She couldn't help but smile at him and enjoy the flattery thrown her way. "You look exhausted." She said, laughing softly as she teased him. he did look rather beat up. She had seen him around the dens here and there, running errands for Tessa, trying to keep from stepping on anyone's toes. Even she had to admit he had it pretty rough.

Cas sighed and laughed softly as she told him he looked exhausted. She was right, but he easily caught the teasing tone in her voice. It was obvious that she was relaxed beside him, and he was honestly glad that she hadn't shied away from him, the omega, the instant he had arrived. He sighed softly as he let his head rest on his paws while he looked over at her, inhaling deeply and smiling. "You smell nice." He said softly, just an observation. He silently let his mind wander as he thought of the difference between Tessa's scent and Laek's scent. Tessa smelled nice, but he had to admit he enjoyed Laek's scent more. Maybe it was just the amount of time he spent with his mate, but he couldn't help but find a small similarity between the smells.

She didn't say anything... not a word to defend him. Therefore, it was true; he wasn't being a good mate to her. He could not help but press his face against the ground, frustrated, and mad, though at himself more than anything. She wouldn't have told him that, not ever, so maybe it was good he had taken the time to just listen to the two... at least he had an idea of how she felt. It was true though, and, there was no way of denying it. Though, even as he got angry at himself, the more he listened to the conversation they were having, and the small bit of flattery in his words, and what he was saying, he soon couldn't take it anymore. However, in an attempt to make it not so obvious he had been listening to them without their knowing, he tried to seem calm, as hard as that was now, as slowly walked towards the two.

The same thoughts that he had when he was at the mountains seemed to pop up again though... of how she was a lot better off with the pack, instead of having him around. It seemed as though he couldn't even keep it together enough to take care of her and the pups enough, or even spend time with her... He sighed, trying to push those thoughts away, he just had to pull himself together, and he knew he couldn't just leave her... nor did he want to. He loved her too much to just leave her.

"Hey Tess...Cas" He said silently, wandering up behind them, sitting and smiling partially at her. He didn't really give much of his attention to Cas though, even if what the male said was true, Sib felt it wasn’t his place to say such things, and he couldn't help but be a little mad at him, even if he did have to act passively about it now. "Didn't expect to see you all the way out here, how are you feeling Tess?" He asked, moving and laying at her other side, licking her neck gently.

Tessa couldn't help but jump slightly at the sudden male voice behind them. She recognized it immediately, her head snapping to the side to spot her mate's figure. "Sib." She said softly, instantly recognizing the look in his eyes that he was obviously trying to hide. When he smiled at her, she frowned up at him slightly. "Is everything alright?" She asked quietly, shifting her weight so that her back was to Cas and she was looking up at Sib as he laid on her other side. "I'm fine. I was just relaxing and talking to Cas." She said, licking his chin gently, but then her ear flicked back in the other male's direction as Cas got to his feet. "You're leaving?" She asked, looking up at Cas with a frown.

Cas flinched at Sib's voice, turning his head and looking up at the other male. When he finally laid behind Tessa and the female shifted her weight, he got to his feet. He paused at her question and frown, shrugging slightly. "I need to get back to Laek. It was nice talking to you, Tessa." He said softly, and although Sib was there, nudged her shoulder gently and walked away. It was obvious even to him that Sib didn't want him there, and he wanted to avoid conflict as much as possible right now.

"Yah, everything is alright..." He said, looking down at his paws. That was a lie, he was practically going insane in his own mind, but, he didn't want Tessa to know about what he had been thinking, it was bad enough he had been avoiding her and the pups this long, he didn't want her thinking something was really wrong. He glanced back at Cas, watching the male stand and start to leave, not saying anything though. It was a bit of a relief that he was going... having him stick around here right now would only make things worse. A slight grin showed on his muzzle though as he nudged Tess's shoulder, Sib's ears slightly flicking in annoyance. Once the male had left though, he looked back to Tessa, pressing his face against her side. "It's nice that I did find you out here... I... I've been wanting to be able to have some time alone like this, with you." He said quietly. It was hard, trying to keeping what he wanted to say, about what he had heard before, but, he didn't want to say anything. "I'm sorry I haven't been around much. It's hard to try and get used to this." He continued, licking her again before laying his head against her.

Once Cas was gone, Sib seemed to relax a bit more. Was he jealous? He seemed annoyed when Cas had nudged her before he left. She frowned, but decided that it was pointless to press the matter. When Sib spoke again and licked her and laid his head against her, she sighed softly. She found herself gently grooming her mate, not sure what to say in response to his words. He had been gone a lot, and she had missed him, but she didn't have much time to do so. If she really thought about it, though, she realized that she hadn't really spent much time missing him. There was always too much to do. She didn't have the time to do so.

"Sib, I don't know what to say. I've been so busy with the pups..." She said softly, barely keeping herself from saying that she didn't really have time to miss him. That would only hurt him. But she didn't accept his apology, either. He had no excuse for going off that often and for that long. She had struggled and stumbled as she raised their offspring almost completely alone, and she was exhausted and run down.

"I know... and I should be there with you." He couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy at her lack of words... she was probably mad at him about being gone... and she had every right to be. He slowly moved away from her grooming, standing and walking over to the water's edge. "You know... if you're mad, just say it... you have every right to be... I haven't been around, I've been gone, leaving you alone. I can't even say I have a good excuse as to why." He sighed as he talked now. He too was now at a loss of words, not knowing what to say to her. He wasn't being the mate he should be to her, nor the father he should be to his pups, he was failing his entire family it seemed.

Tessa frowned as he got up and moved away from her grooming. When he spoke again and told her to tell him if she was angry, she sighed and got to her feet as well. She approached him as he continued to speak, licking his chin affectionately and sitting down in front of him to nuzzle against his chest. "Sib, I'm not mad at you, I'm just tired. I don't blame you for wanting time away. There have been several times where I just want to leave the pups behind and be alone." She said softly, looking down at her paws and admitting that she was tired of the pups. She hadn't wanted to say it out loud, but now that she did, she was relieved that someone else knew what she was feeling.

She felt like she was begin a bad mother for saying she didn't want to be with them all the time, and she was embarrassed that he knew. But she needed to tel someone, she just couldn't keep the thought to herself for fear that it would get worse and progress to her abandoning them altogether.

He glanced back, seeing her stand and moving back over to him, sighing as she licked him. He nuzzled against her as he felt her pressing against his chest. Sure, what she was saying was true, but... it wasn't just wanting to get away from the pups, he had been wanting to go further and further from the pack, from everyone. He couldn't explain why, other than missing being a loner. "I know, but still, I... I shouldn't just leave like that... it's not right." He said softly, licking the top of her head. She should feel bad about wanting time away, everyone needed it, especially from things like this. Raising the pups, it wasn't something that was easy, and it was something both of them were still new to. "You know, we are here right now, far away from everyone else. I'm sure the pups are fine, not only do we have the pup-sitter's, but I'm sure they can take care of themselves, as long as they don't get into to much trouble. Why not we just stay here for a little..." He suggested, licking her cheek as he laid down. It wouldn't be so bad, just relaxing here for a while. They both really did seem to need it, and ever since she had given birth they hadn't had much time alone together. Now was as good a time as any to have some time to themselves.

Tessa sighed softly and sank to the ground beside him as Sib spoke. They hadn't spent time alone together since before the pups were born, and she wanted this little time that they had. She closed her eyes, resting her head on his paws and leaning against him. She had noticed lately that he hadn't just been pulling away from her, but from the pack. She was worried, but something told her that he wouldn't leave her. He couldn't. Maybe before the pups, but not now that he had responsibilities. He just couldn't do that to her, he wouldn't. She told herself this over and over, as if to reassure herself that he didn't really want to leave. She nuzzled against him, enjoying his warmth and the softness of his fur as they enjoyed the peace together.

Her silence was enough of an answer, and as she lay against him, he shifted so they both were more comfortable. He started to groom her now, curled around her as she closed her eyes. It was nice, to be like this again. He had missed being able to just relax, having Tessa close to him like this. He knew he couldn't leave... he knew it would hurt Tessa more than anything, he didn't want his pups to be without a father, and he didn't want Rayne to be without a brother again. Though, he didn't want to think about that anymore... he just wanted to relax. He sighed again, laying his head over her's.

She relaxed beside him as he started to groom her, slowly dozing off under his soothing affection. But when he rested his head over her, she shifted slightly to lick his cheek affectionately, leaning against him and sighing softly. She wanted to enjoy the peace and quiet, but there were things on her mind that she just couldn't put out of it, that she just had to say. "You know, we'll have to deal with whatever prank Bleu and Bandit have set off when we get back. What are we going to do with those two? They're really starting to piss Coven off. Our Bleu has decided that he and Fallon are the best targets for her schemes." She said, her head resting on his paws once more while she tried to figure out how to get their daughter under control. The little girl was always getting in trouble, and a scolding from mom never really did anything to stop her from pulling something again. How did they handle it? Coven's patience wouldn't hold forever, and even Fallon must be getting annoyed by now.

He sighed as she started to speak of Bleu and Bandit, she was right, it was obvious they would do something while Tess and he were gone... He just looked up at her, licking her cheek and smiling, "It's alright, they're pups, it's good they're rambunctious like they are. Coven won't dare do anything to them, and the most he'll do is yell at me about it, and that really doesn't matter to me. I'm sure Fallon will get annoyed by it soon, but I'll talk to her, she seems understanding enough to just let it go." He said, sighing again and returning to grooming her. He didn't want her worrying about anything, she needed the rest more than him, and besides, it really wasn't anything new dealing with Coven.

Tessa nodded slightly as he spoke of the pups. Yeah, if only it was that easy to deal with them. The pups, mostly Bleu and Bandit, were causing the entire pack tons of trouble, and it was only a matter of time before something went terribly wrong. But as Sib resumed the grooming, she felt herself relax and felt the worries slide away slowly. She couldn't worry about this stuff right now, she couldn't help but relax against her mate. She soon found herself dozing lightly against his paws as she enjoyed his touch, her breath coming in a slow, smooth rhythm.

It was nice that she slowly began to relax again, continuing to lick her. Even if he knew things wouldn't be that easy, worrying about them wouldn't help now... more stress would just make things difficult, they would worry about all that when the time came for them to go back. He wasn't tired though, and as she began to doze he remained awake, enjoying the sound of the waterfall as they laid calmly by it, for once in a long while enjoying being alone together like this. It probably would be often they got to do this, with the pups getting older it would only get harder... but Sib promised himself he'd be around more, so that neither got to overwhelmed. He would just deal with his own problems a lot later...

She slept peacefully now, something she felt like she hadn't done in a LONG time. She had been sleeping lightly lately, waking often, and hardly resting. The pups had her on edge, and heaven forbid she got a small chance to lay down - that only meant that the pups would act up and she'd have Coven or someone running up to her demanding that she control the little devils. She relished the peace she now shared with her mate, regaining the energy she had been steadily losing over the past several weeks. The pups were growing, and with each passing moment, their growth only created more trouble for Tessa, and less sleep and rest.
