life in the moonlight

A petit, light brown wolf wonders through the forest as she heads to the boarder in the east. She looks up and sees the bright moonlight through the trees above and sees a dark sky filled with beautiful stars. As she walks through the cool grass she sniffs the air. She picks up the hint of wolves and knows they are far off. She looks around, small animals move in the trees beside her. She huffs lightly before moving on, her tail swishing slightly as she walks.

She soon stops suddenly when she comes to a river. "Ah water. I've been needing this." She says to herself as she jumps into the river. She laughs and splashes around a bit. She slowly swims to the other side and shakes her fur. She then takes a drink from the river before sniffing the air once more. She now knows she is close to the pack territory. "I wonder what its like. Hmm. I guess I'll find out soon" she says to herself. She then starts to walk slowly to the boarder, her still wet paws slightly sinking into the grass.

She soon arrives at the boarder as the moon slowly starts to set. She comes to a small clearing and sits down. The scents are strongest here so she decides to stay in this area. She then howls loudly,yet calmly, knowing that they will soon find her. Her ears perk up more so and she keeps an eye on her surroundings. She watches the moon slowly set and the stars as they disappear. And as the last star disappeared in the morning light, she sees a shooting star. She smile and makes a wish.

It sort of just makes all the site more uniform and a lot of people are used to rping in past tense so they tend to be uncomfortable and less willing to rp with someone that uses a different tense. The borders of the Roztok pack had been quite active lately, so Xerxses was forced to go on more frequent patrols, leaving him unable to train the pack's warriors as frequently as he would like. However, they seemed to be keeping themselves in shape well enough, though that didn't mean that he was about to just up and let them out of their required training. However, tonight, he was out on his second patrol, and he was nearing the southern border as a howl echoed through the trees and towards the packlands. There was a lone wolf at the border, likely seeking acceptance into the pack. With a soft sigh, the beta male turned in her direction, making his way towards her slowly.

Eventually he reached her, coming to a stop several feet from her within the pack's borders. With a slight nod, he sat, his tail resting motionlessly beside him as he let his eyes scan her form slowly. "Welcome to the borders of the Roztok Pack. I am Xerxses, Beta Male. What brings you here, stranger?" He asked, tilting his head slightly, his voice calm and authoritative, but not at all aggressive or harsh. He was glad to see a respectful wolf at the border, someone that knew enough about a pack to howl at the borders instead of just waltz right in and act like they own the place. For now, he left it at that, waiting to hear her response and see why she was really here before proceeding forward with the conversation.

Well, it had been a long day beforehand, so many changes had occurred in such a short time period. The male found his head spinning and his sleep had been restless, in turn he had decided to take his time to check out the borders and to mark them as he had gone. However when he started he noticed the scent of Xerxes, his beta. So the male was already patrolling, well it was a good thing that he was, the last thing Zetos needed was for any wolves to come in while they were asleep. However that left him with the conundrum of what to do with his time. For a moment the male found his mind going towards the thought of Trilogy, she was a beautiful female, however, she was also very skittish and easily frightened. A warmth flooded his heart at the thought, causing his pace to quicken along the borders as he let his mind wander.

The thoughts were cut short though, the sound of a howl could evidently be heard from South-West of his location. It was, without a doubt, the howl of a female wolf, but what was she doing coming so late at night? That caused his mind to tick ever so slightly, he had learned well enough not to trust so easily. His body moved into a lope as he found himself drawing near to the ground with every forceful push from it. The black wolf's heavy paws slapped the ground, cracking down on branches, foliage, and other greenery as he forced himself towards the source. As he approached the place where she was he slowed, he could scent his beta, and the new mixture of smell with him. So Xerxes had gotten there first, a plus indeed, but Zetos felt that he should also introduce himself lest the first light of morning brought any troubles from the stranger.

Without much regality to his step he moved himself forward, the question that was posed fell upon his ears. They stood tall as he awaited the answer, drawing himself into view of the female but behind the beta. He let himself draw to the left of the male, sitting down with a couple feet between them. "Xerxes, good to see you, a beautiful morning indeed." He then turned to the newcomer, looking her over for a moment before relaxing himself down. "As to you as well, I am Alpha Zetos." He shifted slightly at his shoulders hearing them both pop at the movement.
