No Interruptions (Open)

Dawn bloomed with a sunrise that Genevieve would remember. Golden shafts branched their way through the large trees that secluded the area in which the female resided in. It had been a while since she had socialised with other creatures, If anything the female preferred being alone, consumed within the silence that covered the greenery. Enjoying the eerie scenery Genevieve perched herself upon a large slab, a rock to be exact that was seemingly bigger than most. It was wide, and the surface of the rock was cooling from the morning sun. Flicking her gaze around Genevieve caught sight of a small hare peacefully grazing. "Perhaps a little snack?"

Jumping to her feet Genevieve kept a watchful eye on the rabbits movements, Avoiding her presence at all costs. Although she was fully aware that if the hare were to notice her, it would be the end. Not because of her speed or stamina, purely because the hare was grazing just a few feet from its home, a small hole dug beneath the earth. Flicking her ear's the female listened for any incoming interruptions but all seemed silent, So she continued to eye her prey down. Moments after carefully watching the hare Genevieve arched her back, positioned her hind legs and bounded for the rabbit. With a quick grip of the hare and whiplash of her crown she felt the small mammal fall limp. Perfect!

With her small hunt completed successfully the female pranced back towards the rock slab feasting of her kill. It might not have been enough to fill a pack, but it was plenty to fill her small stomach. A few minuets passed by before sleep overpowered the female sending her into a light peaceful slumber.

He'd been spending some time training his apprentice, Teras, in the training areas of the territory that day, and though the young wolf had returned to the camp, Xerxses had decided to go out on a short patrol before following him back to the dens. He now made his way to the border, his thick white fur shifting and rippling slightly in the breeze with each step he took, the muscle movements beneath the white only making it puff up slightly and make him appear even larger. His posture was relaxed and his eyes bored and uninterested as he moved, tail swinging behind him and ears twitching at sounds here and there as he went. There really wasn't much to report, and he figured like any other day, he'd return to the pack with nothing to report to Ramses about the state of the borders. In fact, the majority of his patrol was uneventful, and as he turned onto the last stretch of land, he was considering cutting it short and heading back, that is, until an unfamiliar scent filled his nose.

The large warrior stopped mid-step and lifted his nose, inhaling deeply and growling softly at the stranger's scent on the breeze. It didn't take him long to identify the direction the scent was coming from, and he turned, moving in her direction much quicker than he had been walking before. Within a matter of minutes he found the source of the scent, coming to a stop several feet from her and snarling to one, announce his presence, and two, wake the sleeping female. He had never been a very social wolf, and the only soft spot in him was reserved for two wolves. His sister, Trilogy, and his apprentice, Teras. Though, he never really let Teras see much of the affection that the mentor held for him. That he'd never admit to. But this stranger, on the borders of their land, unannounced, he had no sympathy or affection for. His tail rose dominantly, as did his head, his ears pinning back and his eyes narrowing, holding out a growl as he watched her and waited for her reaction to his presence and behavior.

It was not long before a grumbling sound flickered past her ears. Twitching, Genevieve blinked once before realising what had appeared amongst her. A wolf, a male and a dominant one at that. He wore an ivory coat, He was welt build and although Genevieve was some distance away from the male, she could see the dominance radiating off him. But why? She was in no position to be made to submit nor explain her very own presence and why she was within the woods. It only occurred to her that he may be a member of a pack when many scents mingled within his own. It was clear the male was not alone living in these woods. But it seemed no other friend of his was with him at the time.

With the interruption Genevieve lifted herself up, slowly climbing down the face of the rock before meeting his gaze. "Cant say I've seen you around her before. Have I been a bother to you? Whoever you are?" Genevieve was not only annoyed by the prowling male and his domineering approach, but by his lack of respect. The female had caused no trouble, nor had she been in any way rude towards him. Just what was his purpose here? Why had he felt the need to interrupt her sleeping? Kicking back her anger she paused briefly, approaching the male with caution. Genevieve was not one to spar, She felt there was no need as things can be discussed and battled out without bloodshed. "Was there really any need for you to rudely interrupt me?" She too held her tail high, as her eyes trailed, though it was nothing of dominance just interest, watching for any sudden movements. She did not want to stir up trouble, she just wanted to simply know who the male was.

The female's lack of respect in response to his presence and her words to him only intensified the large male's snarl, his ears still turned backwards as his hackles rose and the fur on his neck and shoulders stood on end. "I am Xerxses, beta male of Roztok, the pack who's lands you have so carelessly entered without announcing your presence or asking permission." He growled, her attitude giving him even less reason to be polite and cordial with her. This rogue had not only trespassed, she had also disrespected a high ranking pack member and insulted him on top of it. There was absolutely no reason for him to allow her to remain inside the lands, let along keep himself from forcefully chasing her from them at that very moment.

But something made the large male hold himself back, keep himself from attacking, at least for the time being. Her lack of respect and her attitude angered and annoyed him, but there was something about her that stopped him, making him narrow his eyes suspiciously and growl as he waited for her response to his announcement of his rank. She clearly had a dominant personality, but her behavior made him doubt how successful she would be within a pack. Roztok had no need for disrespectful, proud wolves. No, they were a pack of strong and loyal warriors, a close-knit group that, although not very social, would die for one another without a moment's hesitation. This female, she did not look like she would die for anyone but herself at the current moment. All he was doing was making sure that his family, his pack, was safe from such strangers in their lands.

Upon the male announcing not only him being part of a pack, but to be a beta male of one currently residing within the forest she had so carelessly trespassed without knowing was a shock. It was clear now why he was so dominant and heartless. She was all but a stranger to him. For all he know she could be a danger to not only him but to his pack, She would do the same therefore she respected that aspect and due to this she took a step back, lowering her tail slightly. "I had no Idea, It was not my intention to trespass nor to anger you. But truth be told I have nothing back out there" Turning her crown she directed the male's gaze towards the outskirts and then back to her own. "Angering you is not what I want, To be precise, All I want to know Is whether you have space for perhaps another member of your pack. Meeting new wolves and becoming a part of a family is all i want. Nothing more nothing less. So forgive me for trespassing." Upon finishing her little speech, Genevieve lowered her crown before settling down on her haunches awaiting the males reply.

The silence had appeared once more, only this time making the female feel uneasy It was not her wish to be alone for as long as she lived, Right now was where she could potentially start a fresh. Start a new beginning with new friends. New wolves to call her family. Protection at its best. her mother once told her, There is always strength in numbers, the more you have the better chance you have at surviving. Genevieve could only hope her apologetic tone was enough to tamper with the males mind and make him think twice about chasing her away.

It seemed like the female before him had no idea she was in pack lands, and when she finally backed down, his growl ceased and his posture relaxed, but only slightly. He was still clearly dominant, and he wasn't going to put up with any lack of respect. Her head now lowered as she finished speaking and his eyes narrowed at her request to join the pack. With a deep breath, he studied her briefly, trying to decide how to word his question. Finally, after standing there silently for a short time, he opened his muzzle, eyes still narrowed as he spoke. "What would you offer our pack, should you be accepted as a member?" He asked, having seen or heard nothing in her or from her that would benefit their pack at all.

No, he'd only seen a disrespectful, proud female wolf from the start. Roztok was in no need for such things. Their pack was in need of powerful, loyal, and respectful warriors, as their alpha demanded nothing less. They were a strong pack, but one disrespectful, weak link was all that was needed to bring everything crashing down. She would have to prove herself, she would have to convince him that she deserved a rank within their pack. He had been protective from the moment the main valley pack had split into the four packs, but ever since his sister, Trilogy, had joined Roztok, he had been even more protective and careful. She was the only thing that really mattered to him (other than his apprentice, Teras and the pack) in this world, and he wasn't about to even take the smallest chance of letting someone in their pack that would hurt her in any way, shape, or form.

Upon her apologetical attempt to sooth the male, having him forgive her for tresspassing without realising he questioned her once more. Why should Genevieve join this pack? How would it affect it? Were her skills worthy enough? The female knew she would have to prove to the male just how decent her skills were, but first he needed an Idea of what skilled the female posessed. "I am skilled in both Hunting and Fighting, Though I prefer a debate over bloodshed. Forgive me, but I have yet to introduce myself. My name is Genevieve, If needed I will be more than willing to prove my skills to you." Her head was still lowered and tail slowly flickering behind her, She kept this posture throughout her small introduction and approach. This male was Beta, one step out of line could mean the death of her, and she knew it well.

"I've already eaten myself, but perhaps your a little hungry after your patrol? I've already hunted today" She turned her head in the direction of the small hare carcass then reverted her gaze back to the male as if directing him. "So feel free to take whatever food you need." On that note Genevieve thought momentarily. She had only just hunter and had little rest when the male approached. Had he already seen her take down the rabbit? No surely he would have approached sooner. Nevermind... Shaking her head she awaited the ivory males reply.

The large male listened to her words carefully, though he was still rather suspicious of her intentions. She said she wanted to join their pack, yet when he'd woken her, she'd one, trespassed on their territory, two, hunted without permission on Roztok lands, and three, she'd disrespected a high ranking wolf. Now she was saying that she was a talented hunter and fighter. "I am in no need of food stolen from our territory." He said, with a slight growl in his tone. "Roztok is in need of respectful and loyal wolves." He said, still seeing her as disrespectful and from the evidence of the dead hare behind her, a thief as well.

There was nothing but her word for him to go off of, and right now, he did not exactly believe her. He had no reason to. He had always been a stickler for respect, and well, she'd only insulted him and been offended by his lack of respect towards her upon his arrival. He had only been doing his duty to his pack and protecting his family. She, on the other hand, posed only a threat to them at this point.
